Letter P

Yesterday at Blue Preschool, we were learning all about the letter P. We started with "Show and Tell." The kids all had items that started with the letter P: painting, popcorn, Power Ranger, puppets, puzzle, and the book Pinkalicious. We read a couple of books, Pirate Boy by Eve Bunting, and Penguin by Polly Dunbar.
We watched a video of a peacock, HERE.

We did a worksheet about things that start with the letter P:(I am impressed by how well some of the boys' coloring skills have progressed!)

We made collages of things cut from magazines that start with the letter P.

We had a snack of Popcorn, Peaches, Pineapple, and Pickles.
We made Puzzles from Popsicle sticks:

It was fun. I think that letter-themed lessons are definitely my favorite. They are so fun to teach and give me a lot of flexibility and give the boys a lot of variety!

Letter N Week

This week we studied the Letter N, number 9,color white and square shape. We kicked it off by doing some counting games with books and cookies. Then we talked about different words that start with the letter N like nose, nine,New years and Noise. I gathered up some things(scissors, tape, air freshener, keys ect) and had the boys guess what it was with their eyes closed. They were pretty good at guessing what the noise was.
Then we read a fun book about a dog named Noodles. For our craft the boys made noodle necklaces.
Then the kids practiced their letter N writing. The got to color pictures that started with the letter N.
For our last activity we played hide-n-seek with the letter N. Each kid got to hide it somewhere in the living room. The boys could of played this for hours. They loved it!

Christmas Party

We had a little Christmas party a couple of weeks before Christmas. We made a paper chain to count down to Christmas, colored a picture, had lunch, decorated cookies, had a gift exchange, and the kids opened individual pinatas with a little treat inside. It was fun.
