Graduation!

It's taken a while, but here are some pictures from our Blue Preschool Graduation! The boys all seemed to have a great time and it was a wonderful way to end such a fun year of preschool. We all missed Teacher B and J but everyone else was able to attend with their families for support.

Teacher and Preschool boys. We were all sure proud of those little boys and they were sure proud of themselves:)
From left to right: Teacher W and G, Teacher S and EM, Teacher J and P, Teacher C and EW, Teacher R and T.
Each of the boys had their own special chair to sit on for graduation (made by Teacher R).
The boys wore their Blue Preschool shirts and Teacher J made cute graduation hats for each one. They then took turns walking down the aisle and getting their cute diploma (made by Teacher C). It was really fun to watch them be so proud of themselves and grown-up as they shook Teacher W's hand and got their diploma.

T getting his diploma.
G getting his diploma.
P getting his diploma.
EW getting his diploma.
EM getting his diploma.
P then led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance- something the boy's learned really well since we did it every preschool class.
EW and Teacher C led the boy's in "Higgly Wiggly Bumblebee".
Each boy got to introduce themselves by saying their name in the song. T sure liked saying his name into that microphone!
G is so proud of himself after saying his name!
EW did NOT like it when everyone shouted for the song:)
P was very involved and sang the whole thing!
Each boy then got a turn to give a little talk about themselves where they told us a little bit what things they liked about preschool and what they had learned this year.

G was the first to go and he did a great job!
EM was next. It was great to see him speak up so well and not be scared at all. Way to go EM!
T loved that microphone and thought he was a pretty big boy and loved sharing what he had learned in preschool.
EW was so cute and made everyone smile.
P had his whole talk memorized and even used flash cards so he could do it all by himself! We decided he would probably be the Class President:)
After the talks and songs the boys passed out popcorn to everyone and we watched a slideshow (made by Teacher R) of music and pictures from our year of Blue Preschool. What a great way to finish out graduation and relive some fun memories.
All the boys with their diplomas. From left to right: T, G, EM, P, and EW.
Jumping for joy!
Yeah! We love Blue Preschool!
We did it!
The boys and their Teachers (Moms). What a fun group and what a great year of preschool we had! From left to right: Teacher W, Teacher S, Teacher J (who had just had her baby a few days previous!), Teacher C, and Teacher R.

We missed Teacher B and J so much and wished they could've joined us. Preschool would not have been the same without them!
Finally we had some refreshments and a big Bounce House (that Teacher C brought) for the kids to play in. We got down the big preschool banner and were going to have the kids break through it to get to the Bounce House as a final celebration. Well... they tried...
But they just bounced off it then when it fell down proceeded to run to the Bounce House. Notice all the parents laughing their heads off behind them, and Parker's dad (on the left) saying, "Why me" to himself.
The second time one of the Dads punctured the sign a little bit with his leatherman so the boys were able to break through. Too cute!
We did it! Wahoo!
Thanks to everyone for an amazing year!

This is the Place Heritage Park

Our first field trip was a great success!  We met up at This is the Place Heritage Park and had a great morning with all the Blue Preschool kids.  Before we went into the park all the kids got their new field trip t-shirts that R made.  The shirts say "BLUE preschool" on them and the kids all loved wearing them!  It was also nice and easy for the Moms to spot where our kids were at all times.
From left to right: P, G, EM, J, T, EW
To start off we went on a train ride around the park.
All the kids got to pan for gold in the stream.  Here is S helping from left to right: T, EM, J, and P pan for gold... with some of their siblings.
Each kid found a little piece of "gold" from the creek that they were able to trade in at the Bank for a piece of candy.  Here they are making their transaction.
We also rode the little train around the lake 3 times and the kids loved singing Old Mcdonald and screaming in the tunnel.  We also took a quick stop in the school house so the kids could see how children went to school in the pioneer times.  They liked drawing on their slates as they finished their candy from the banker.
Then we over to the pony ride where each kid got to take a ride on a horse.  They were all very brave and seemed to enjoy themselves.  Here is T on the front horse and G on the back horse taking their turns.
After the pony rides the kids were able to pet the sheep and goats. The also were able to look at the cows, pigs, and rabbits.  How fun for them to learn about these animals on Tuesday then get to see, pet, and ride them on Thursday!
We ended up with a little play time at the kid's village where all the boys enjoyed running around and playing in the houses and on, yet another, train.  Here is P, G, and J at the firehouse.

First Day of School

Today we met for our first day of Blue Preschool.  We all met together so the kids could get to know each other and all the Moms that would be their teachers.  Each Mom took a segment and we all had a great time.

We started with a gathering activity- puzzles
We then had singing and wiggle time with R.

Here are the songs we sang:
Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes

Name Chant
Higgelly, wiggelly, bumblebee who can say their name for me?
(child says name)

let's all say it (name)
Let’s all yell it (name)
Let’s all clap it (name)
Let's all whisper it (name)

I Like to go to School- to the tune: "Farmer in the Dell"
I like to go to school.
I like to go to school.
Heigh-ho-the-derry-oh,
I like to go to school.

I like to play with friends.
I like to play with friends.

Heigh-ho-the-derry-oh,
I like to play with friends.

I like to dance around.
I like to dance around.
Heigh-ho-the-derry-oh,

I like to jump up high.

Heigh-ho-the-derry-oh,

I like to sit down quiet.

Can you Find? to the tune:  “The Muffin Man”
Teacher:  Can you find ______?
                 _______, ________?
               Can you find ______?
He has a blue shirt on.
Children:  Point to the child.

After that we had the lesson on Rules from C.  She told the story of the preschool with no rules and how the kids and teacher at that school were very sad, then she went over the rules.  The kids were really good and listened very well, even T who wanted to sit in the back.
W then read Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.  She read the story with little cutouts of Alexander and the hard things he had to endure.  She also talked about having a case of the bad attitudes.  She then showed the kids our "Australia" area where they can go when they are having a bad day to take a moment, then when they are feeling happy again they can join the rest of the class. It is called Australia because that is where Alexander decides he wants to go after his bad day.

In the Australia corner we'll have pillows and quiet activities like books for the kids to look at.
After story time we had snack provided by B.  We also sang the snack song:

Snack Song- to the tune “Bring back my Bonnie to me”
Thank you, Thank you.  Thank you so much for our snack, today.
Thank you, Thank you.  Thank you so much for our snack.
The kids then got to make place mats with pictures we had taken earlier and stickers for their names.  J led the craft and all the Moms helped with the glue and stickers.
J then took each kid into the bathroom and painted their hands so they could make hand prints for their place mats.  C laminated them at the end and they turned out very cute.  Here is little J getting his hands painted.
At the end the kids sang Happy Birthday to T since he'll be turning 3 on Thursday.  S led the song and made him a big button with a shiny 3 on it and his name- he was very happy.
